Dibenzofuran is white or light yellow needle-like crystals with blue fluorescence. It is soluble in benzene, ether and ethanol, but insoluble in water. The oxygen-containing fluorene in coal tar is 0.5% to 1%, most of which are concentrated in the wash oil fraction, and its mass fraction is about 10%. The mass fraction in heavy wash oil is as high as 30%.
