Application:
Indole is widely used as a raw material for industries such as agrochemicals, spices, dyes, and medicine.
At present, indole is mainly used in the following aspects: 1) Indole is used as a fragrance retention agent in the fragrance industry and is an indispensable raw material for high-end perfumes. 2) Synthesis of β-indoleacetic acid, β-indolepropionic acid, and β-indolebutyric acid from indole as raw materials, all of which are plant growth hormones. 3) Tryptophan synthesized from indole is an amino acid that is necessary for animal growth, and can also be used as an anti-protein deficiency gastric ulcer drug. 4) Indole is condensed with formaldehyde to produce indole formaldehyde resin.
