Introduction: Indole is a flavoring agent that is a white, flaky crystalline product. it has an unpleasant odor when concentrated and a flowery odor when diluted. It is soluble in most fixed oils and propylene glycol and insoluble in glycerin and mineral oil. It is obtained from decomposi- tion of a protein.
Application:
It is mainly used as the raw material of spices, dyes, amino acids and pesticides. Indole itself is also a spice, often used in jasmine, lilacs, lotus and orchids, such as the daily flavor formula, the amount is generally in a thousand.
GB 27 60-96 provides for the use of edible spices. It is mainly used to make cheese, citrus, coffee, nuts, grapes, strawberries, raspberries, chocolates, assorted fruits, jasmine and lily.
