Application of Fluorene CAS 86-73-7

Fluorene can be obtained by industrial synthesis and is used as a precursor for indanthrene dyes, plastics and pesticides. Chemicals such as 9-fluorenone, 9-fluorenemethanol and trinitrofluorenone (for xerography) can be synthesized from fluorene. Polyfluorenes can be used as light emitters in organic light emitting diodes.
