In order to further increase the yield and obtain better economic benefits, a test of the "sodium ethoxide ethanol solution-polyethylene glycol-cyclohexane" reaction system was carried out. Under optimized process conditions, the yield of 9-fluorenemethanol was increased to 75,4%. It can be seen that the activity of sodium ethoxide ethanol solution as a catalyst is higher than that of solid base.
