Currently, there are two main feedstock oils used in the production of carbon black in China. They are ethylene tar, coal tar and their distillates. Each of these two feedstocks used to produce carbon black has advantages and disadvantages.
1. One of the carbon black raw materials: ethylene tar Ethylene tar is a residue of C10 or higher in ethylene cracking products (EthyleneTar is called ET, and it is called pyrolysis fuel oil or vinyl residue in domestic ethylene plants). The quality of ET varies with the raw material used for cracking. Cracking feedstocks include diesel fuel. For gasoline and light hydrocarbons, the higher the density of the cracked feed, the higher the yield and the higher the aromatics content. Ethylene tar has higher aromatics content, but also higher asphaltenes.
2. the second type of carbon black raw materials: coal tar and its fractions Coal tar is one of the coal products in high temperature distillation furnaces and is a by-product of coke plants. Coal tar fraction (CoalTar called CT) mainly includes eucalyptus oil (including eucalyptus oil and bismuth oil), antiseptic oil (hydrochloric acid oil), etc., and its aromatic content is greater than ET.
Generally speaking, we mentioned that the coal tar currently used is the residual product after deep processing in the coke plant, which belongs to the crude coal tar. Emu oil and anti-corrosion oil are obtained by distillation of coal tar with high aromatic content and are high-quality carbon black feedstock oils.
In China, carbon black feedstock oil is mainly composed of coal tar (including eucalyptus oil and preservative oil). However, this is not the best option. When selecting coal tar-based feedstock oil as carbon black feedstock oil, in order to ensure the reliability of carbon black quality, especially the application performance, tar processing oil coal, such as anti-corrosion oil and eucalyptus oil, should be used. And the second oil, try to use less "coarse" coal tar, especially "coarse" coal tar with density close to or greater than 1.2, it's better not to use it. In conclusion, it is a wise choice to choose coal tar and its distillate oil as the raw material for carbon black production, because of its high aromatic content, the quality of the produced carbon black will generally be higher, and it is necessary to pay for the selection of coal tar processing oil as carbon black. raw material.
Carbon black is a non-metallic element that is insoluble in any organic solvent. It is a very fine dispersed particle, and its density is very small. If there is a small amount of carbon black on the body or objects, it can be cleaned and decomposed with water or isopropyl alcohol. Soak and scrub to remove.
