What is washing oil?
The cleaning and lubrication of the watch movement, abbreviated as "washing oil", is a frequent and very important task in watch repair. The purpose of oil washing is to maintain the cleanliness of the watch components and necessary lubrication of the parts, thereby ensuring the precision of the watch machine parts, further ensuring the timing accuracy of the watch machine, and extending the service life of the watch machine.

When do I need to wash oil?
Under normal circumstances, the meter machine is usually cleaned with oil once after two years of use. In normal circumstances, oil washing work is often carried out simultaneously with adjusting and repairing parts. In addition, while checking the malfunction of the meter machine, it is also necessary to carry out oil washing work when the following problems are found:
1. The lubricating oil inside the movement dries up or becomes sticky. This will increase the resistance to the movement of the parts, making the watch machine inaccurate
2. Excessive lubricating oil in the meter machine. This can cause oil to overflow everywhere, contaminating the machine parts, especially contaminating the escape speed control mechanism, resulting in the meter machine stopping or noticeably inaccurate
3. Foreign objects such as dust particles, metal particles, fiber particles, etc. enter the movement. This will cause the transmission mechanism of the watch machine to be blocked, causing the watch machine to travel incorrectly or even stop
4. The parts are rusted.
This is because the wearer lacks common sense in maintaining the watch or is affected by the environment (such as underwater or high-altitude work), as well as due to poor sealing performance of the watch case, which can cause the watch machine to run abnormally or stop running.
